001 About Their Day
To get to Piney River Ranch, you must leave the affluent town of Vail, Colorado and take a long dirt road all the way to the top of the mountain. But once you get there, you are met with the most breathtaking views of Piney Lake with its epic peaks as the backdrop. It was a rainy, moody day for mother earth on Dallas and Jeff’s wedding day. Right before their ceremony, it started pouring rain. The clouds cleared long enough for the mountains to be visible during the ceremony. Right after, it began pouring for another hour or two. Then, it cleared up right at sunset just long enough for a private canoe ride on the lake. The pacing of the rain all day felt like divine timing, just like Dallas and Jeff’s love. Throughout the day, many of their loved ones pointed out their unique list of commonalities— so many that their love story also felt like something of divine orchestration. It was my intention to highlight this theme throughout their film— the divinity present throughout their day and their love.
